Each person is an individual and our pupils are respected for their uniqueness. We use our Skills Progression planning to allow pupils to work at the cutting edge of their learning. They enter their adventurous zone and explore knowledge and skills, thereby building successful steps in their learning. We help each pupil achieve this by giving them space to think and explore, to stretch and challenge ideas and we offer support when necessary. This can take many forms. It can be a strategic form of intervention specifically designed to reinforce understanding or a subtle change which removes a potential barrier to learning. Our pupils tell us that they are willing to try, they don’t give up and are not afraid to ask for help if necessary. Neither are we! If we can benefit from the expertise of others, we will ask for help.
Our Educational Psychologist stated in a recent pupil report…
“He has been brilliantly supported at Sithney School and in particular has really benefitted from the creative, flexible approach that has been used there by teaching and support staff.”
